This is my latest Pokemon obsession… Vivillon. I know I’m not a fan of Bug-types that often but this one seems to be one of the few exceptions. I was kinda disappointed its evolution line were the only new Bug-types this generation but once I learned its form difference concept I immediately got hooked.
Vivillon comes in 18 different wing pattern forms, depending entirely on the geographic location set by your 3DS. I think this is a cute concept because it encourages global trading to be used more often by players because you need to connect with the world if you wanna catch ‘em all!
I like, laughed when I heard this cutie’s National Dex number was #666 because if one knows already, that number is heavily associated with Satan and it actually surprised a lot when it was found out this butterfly took that slot in the National Dex. Basically because it’s hell to get all of its forms.
The 18 forms are, as shown above: Archipelago, Continental, Elegant, Garden, High Plains, Icy Snow, Jungle, Marine, Meadow, Modern, Monsoon, Ocean, Polar, River, Sandstorm, Savanna, Sun and Tundra.
I remember seeing the patterns leaked via screenshots in the last days up to the game release I was so curious trying to work out which pattern I would get on my game when the day I play X/Y finally comes. It was through this very Tumblr site that I discovered my native pattern is the River Pattern and that became my fave of the bunch. It’s not an extremely common pattern (I know that Elegant, Polar and Modern Patterns are very very common lol) but it’s not really rare either, it’s more like in the middle of the rarity scale there. I do love all the others as well. They’re so beautiful!
So, which pattern do you like best? Which one does your region get as the native pattern? Do you ever plan on trading to get all the different patterns?
